I've just started my own Biblical reading from a skeptical perspective on my own blog, and naturally this story came up right away.

Interestingly, from my reading, God's reaction is even more jealous and less mature than the traditional story tells it. If you read the Bible, it's obvious that God doesn't really intend to kill them for eating from the tree of knowledge.
